Shepparton Law Courts now Five Levels High

The Shepparton Law Courts development is progressing well, with the building five levels high and the concrete structure now complete. Installation of the feature tree in the entry foyer is well underway, and the facade installation is close to completion.

Design planning is also well progressed for the redevelopment of the 1930's courthouse into a Specialist Family Violence Court.

The $73 million Shepparton Law Courts will form a regional headquarters for the Hume/Goulburn region. Delivering on the vision of the Court Services Victoria Strategic Asset Plan, the new courts will provide more accessible and responsive services for regional Victoria and offer a safe and secure environment for all users.

The multi-jurisdictional development will enable the Supreme Court, County Court, Magistrates' Court, Children's Court, Coroner's Court and VCAT to hold sittings. The court will centre on a flexible and adaptable court and tribunal environment comprising six main courtrooms with the capacity to vary their use to meet caseload requirements. Key design principles will optimise security and safety for all court users.

With its prominent corner position, the new building will engage with the older 1930s courthouse on High Street by way of a generous landscaped public plaza that will serve staff and court users for years to come.
