Interpreter services

Court Services Victoria (CSV) values and recognises the significant work that interpreters contribute to access to justice in Victoria.

In July 2024, CSV undertook an open, competitive procurement process for interpreter services.

The tender documents incorporated a pricing schedule that improved clarity of expected session duration with a broader table of rates across various time intervals.  All successful suppliers confirmed that they comply with Victorian Government requirements for remunerating interpreters. CSV did not set rates or indicate a target as part of the procurement process. 

CSV continues to work closely with all providers of interpreters to Victoria's courts and tribunals to ensure that there is continued access for those who use this service.
