Opening in November 2025
As part of the 2025-26 State Budget, the Victorian Government allocated $114 million over four years to Court Services Victoria to open the new Wyndham Law Courts - a significant investment in the delivery of critical justice services to Melbourne's rapidly growing western suburbs.

Project Delivery
Construction of the new Wyndham Law Courts was completed in March 2025, with the Magistrates' Court of Victoria, Children's Court of Victoria and the Victorian Civil and Administrative Tribunal scheduled to commence operations at the new Courts in November 2025.

Located in one of Australia's fastest growing regions, the Wyndham Law Courts will provide essential services for the western metropolitan community over the next few years including:

Modern, People-Centred Infrastructure
The Wyndham Law Courts is the largest court and tribunal complex outside the Melbourne CBD and has been purpose-built to improve user experience, safety and cultural responsiveness.
Key features include:

technology-enabled services: Digital displays, kiosks, room booking panels, remote hearing capabilities, video conferencing and livestream functionality
-
purpose-built courtrooms and hearing spaces: 13 courtrooms, 4 hearing rooms and 3 mediation suites with access to natural light
-
improved safety and accessibility: Separate public entry points, airport- style security, dedicated circulation pathways, safe waiting areas and advanced duress and CCTV systems
-
cultural safety initiatives: Indigenous architectural consultation, Traditional Owner and First Peoples artwork integration, outdoor community gathering spaces and a firepit, Boonwurrung language embedded in 23 locations and Indigenous landscaping to support the creation of modern songlines.
Co-located and Integrated Services
The new Courts also support integrated justice and community services, including:

dedicated workspaces for justice agencies and services

a Community Connections drop-in facility for multi-jurisdictional information, support and referral - the first in a Victorian court or tribunal

a Changing Places facility -the first in a Victorian court or tribunal
-
a not-for-profit onsite cafe operated by an independent charity - the first in a Victorian court or tribunal
-
bookable interview and meeting rooms
-
quiet sensory rooms and a Sacred Space for reflection and calm.
Supporting Children and Families
The Wyndham Law Courts also incorporates family - and child-friendly features such as:

a Children's Court 'Cubby House' providing a safe space for children and young people navigating traumatic family circumstances.

child-friendly waiting and play areas, including an interactive digital art installation
-
parents rooms, outdoor terraces with 'winter' gardens and other amenities to support families and people using the courts.
Custody Facility
An onsite dedicated day - only custody facility includes 26 holding cells, with over half of cells having access to natural light, and appropriate separation and circulation for adults and young people in custody.
