Recruitment process
The Courts Group uses an online application system to accept job applications. Vacancies are advertised on the official Court Services Victoria Careers website, and via the Victorian Government Careers job board.
To apply for a role, you will need to create/register a candidate profile, where you can apply and track your job applications, and set up job alerts. When you are ready to apply, you must provide a resume and cover letter. For some roles, additional requirements will apply. Read the job advertisement carefully to ensure you have met all the application criteria.
Applications are then screened by the hiring panel. Shortlisted candidates may be invited to complete:
- a panel interview (STAR method – this provides you with a structured format to respond to key selection criteria and answer behavioural interview questions)
- Assessment centre activities (for some bulk recruitment roles)
- Phone screening
- Psychometric testing
As part of our commitment to a safe and respectful workplace, CSV conducts pre-employment checks, including reference checks, police checks and misconduct screening. These checks are handled confidentially, with care and are a standard part of our hiring process to ensure the right fit for both candidates and Court Services Victoria.
If you are the successful candidate, after pre-employment checks have been conducted, your hiring manager will organise an onboarding date with you and Talent Acquisition will give you a letter of offer and onboarding documentation.
If you require adjustments to the recruitment and selection process or require an alternative format to any of the application material, please don't hesitate to email the contact person listed in the advertisement.
If you have any queries about working for CSV, please contact the Talent Acquisition team at careers@courts.vic.gov.au.
