File search warrant as primary application

1. From CMS Portal Home page, click: Children's Court of Victoria. Select a Case Type screen displays.

2. Click: Child Protection. Child Protection screen displays.

3. Click: File Other Application. Child Protection - Other Applications screen displays.

4. To identify filing, type reference in My Reference field.

5. Complete required panels and fields.

 

Panel:  Filing Details

  • Court Location: Select court location.
  • Application Type: Select Search Warrant.
  • Section: Select relevant option.

 

Note: Any selections not listed in menu must be filed as a secondary subcase on an existing case.

 

6. Click: Next Step

 

Note: Alternatively, click the green buttons to navigate between steps at any time.

 

7. Complete required panels and fields.

 

Panel:  Applicant Details

  • Surname/ Single Name: Type surname. Select correct option from results.

 

8. Click: Next Step

9. Complete required panels and fields.

 

Panel:  Child Details

  • Party Designation Type: Do not change.
  • DFFH ID: Type DFFH Client ID or person identifier.
  • Surname / Single Name: Type surname or single name.
  • First Name: Type first name.
  • Middle Name (s): Type middle name(s) if required.
  • Date Of Birth: Type date or click calendar icon to select date.
  • Sex/Gender: Select relevant option.
  • Identified term and/or pronouns: Type additional details if required.
  • Indigenous Status: Select Indigenous status.

 

Panel:  Home Address

  • Address Type: Do not change.
  • Address: Type address. Select correct option from results.
  • Are these address / contact details confidential? Change if required.

 

Panel:  Placement

  • Where is the child currently placed? Select relevant option.

 

10. Click: Next Step

11. Complete required panels and fields. 

 

Panel:  Document Details

  • Filing Document: Click: Choose File and attach Affidavit in support of search warrant PDF document.

 

12. Click: Proceed. Confirmation of Filing screen will display.

 

Note: Application is placed in work queue for registry to review. Document status displays as Pending Review and is updated once work queue is actioned.

 


 

File search warrant as secondary application


1. From CMS Portal Home page, click: File on One of My Cases. List of cases display.

 

Note: Only cases user previously filed on or requested access to, display.

 

2. For relevant case, click: File a Subcase. Add Subcase screen displays.

3. To identify filing, type reference in My Reference field.

4. Complete required panels and fields.

 

Panel:  Subcase Information

  • Filing Type: -
  • Sub Case Type: Select: Search Warrant

 

Panel:  Subcase Intiating Document

  • Code / Name: -
  • Upload Document: Click: Choose File and attach Affidavit in support of search warrant PDF document.
  • Grounds for Application: Select relevant option.

 

Panel:  Filed By

  • Filed By: Select filing practitioner or type name in Add Filed By panel.

 

5. Click: Proceed. Confirmation of Filing screen displays.

 

Note:

  • Application is placed in work queue for registry to review.
  • Document status displays as Pending Review and is updated once work queue is actioned.
