Wyndham Law Court Development

Court Services Victoria is delivering a new state-of-the-art court facility for Melbourne's rapidly growing west.

Wyndham Law Court will be the largest court complex outside of Melbourne's central business district, bringing together multiple Victorian court jurisdictions and tribunals. 

The new facility will:

• provide an unprecedented full range of specialist court programs
• provide dedicated workspaces for a number of government agencies and services
• respond to recommendations made by the Royal Commission into Family Violence (2017) .

The court will be located adjacent to the new Werribee Police Station on vacant land purchased with 2018-19 state budget funding. 

 

The design approach

The purpose-built court will feature 13 courtrooms, four hearing rooms, three mediation suites and 26 holding cells to service the Magistrates' Court of Victoria, the Children's Court of Victoria and the Victorian Civil and Administrative Tribunal. 

Wyndham's future court will prioritise user experience, safety, sustainability, and technological capability.

 

Wyndham project delivery

Court Services Victoria is leading the Wyndham Law Court Development, through its Major Projects Division headed up by Mick Carroll.

Lyons Architects have been appointed as principal consultant, CBRE as project manager, and Slattery as quantity surveyor.
